Award Details
On March 14, 2024, the 2nd XuanTie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference, hosted by Alibaba DAMO Academy, took place in Shenzhen under the theme "Co-Building the Ecosystem, Sharing the Future." The conference gathered hundreds of chip design, operating system, algorithm and device companies from around the world. During the ecosystem awards session, Eden Liu, Head of Engineering at Sointech, received the "XuanTie RISC-V Community Contribution Award" in recognition of long-term technical contributions to the RISC-V open-source community and hands-on edge AI deployment work.
XuanTie is the RISC-V processor brand under Alibaba DAMO Academy and a premier member of RISC-V International as well as a founding member of the RISE Software Ecosystem. By early 2024, XuanTie CPU IP had been licensed to more than 300 companies worldwide, with cumulative shipments surpassing 4 billion units, making it one of the most influential RISC-V processor IPs globally.

Technical Contribution: Running AI Agents on Domestic Open-Source Compute
Since its founding, Sointech has been deeply involved in the RISC-V open-source ecosystem, focusing on the core mission of running large models and AI Agents efficiently on domestic open-source silicon. The team has contributed patches and engineering practices across the Linux Kernel, LLVM/GCC toolchains, QEMU emulator and RISC-V inference engine optimization, tackling critical engineering challenges including RISC-V Vector Extension (RVV) scheduling, memory access alignment and heterogeneous NPU orchestration.
For edge deployments, Sointech has ported its proprietary multi-document summarization, multimodal video generation and translation review AI Agents to the RISC-V platform, enabling enterprise customers to build localized, low-power intelligent terminal solutions based on XuanTie C-series processors without relying on x86/ARM licensing.

Strategic Significance: Domestic Open-Source Compute Foundation × AI Agent Product Matrix
At the conference, Dr. Zhang Jianfeng, Dean of DAMO Academy, declared that RISC-V has "entered a butterfly transformation and an era of explosive application growth," and officially launched the "Wujian Alliance" along with the AI-oriented XuanTie C907 processor. Sointech's award is an authoritative endorsement of its long-term strategy of combining a domestic open-source compute foundation with self-controllable AI Agents.
For Sointech, RISC-V is not merely an instruction set; it is the critical pivot that allows the company to deliver full-stack domestic solutions to industry customers in rail transit, fintech and smart government—sectors with stringent sovereignty requirements. From the silicon instruction set to multilingual AI applications above, Sointech is building a complete technology stack free from dependence on overseas licensing.
Looking Ahead
Sointech will continue to increase investment in the RISC-V open-source community, edge AI inference optimization and Agent framework porting, working together with DAMO XuanTie and Wujian Alliance partners to scale RISC-V in the AI era. The company will also progressively open more RISC-V-based edge AI Agent reference solutions, helping industry customers build their own intelligent businesses on low-power, high-security, self-controllable domestic compute.
